FAQs

How long do the courses take?

Courses last one week, from Monday to Friday, 5 hours per day (4 hours in person and 1 hour of flexible online work).

Where will the course take place?

At Jaume Balmes Institute, located at 121 Pau Claris Street in central Barcelona — just a short walk from Diagonal metro station (L3 and L5) and Provença FGC station (L7). Founded in 1845, it is the oldest active secondary school in Catalonia, combining a rich historical legacy with a vibrant, real-life educational environment.

What is the schedule of the course?

It runs from 3:30 PM to 7:30 PM.

What are the possible course statuses?

Our courses may appear under one of the following statuses:

Planned: The course has not yet reached the minimum number of participants and is not yet confirmed. The final confirmation deadline for all the courses is October.

Confirmed – Registration open: The course will take place, and there are still places available.

Confirmed – Last places available: The course will take place, but only a few spots remain.

Full: Registration closed: The course is full, and no further registrations are accepted.

How many certified hours does the course include?

25 hours

Are the courses eligible for Erasmus+ funding?

Yes. All our courses are eligible under KA1 (Key Action 1) of the Erasmus+ Programme as structured training courses.

How does the registration process work?

First, you fill in the registration form. You will receive a confirmation email acknowledging your registration. Once the course is officially confirmed (no later than the first week of October), you will receive a second email confirming your spot. You will then have 7 days to proceed with the payment. Finally, about 15 days before the course starts, your trainer will contact you with all the necessary details and materials.

Why can't the course be offered in the morning?

Mainly because our instructors work as teachers, principals, or educational inspectors in the mornings.

However, mornings are actually a great time to explore Barcelona, as the city is less crowded and more enjoyable. Besides, activities will be offered for you to enjoy Barcelona and the Catalan culture.

What is the flexible online work?

It refers to the time you may need to read an article or to complete an activity outside the scheduled course hours.

Why are the four core pillars so important for you?

In recent years, the expansion of Erasmus+ has led to the emergence of numerous training providers, not all of which maintain consistent quality standards. Some of our team members have personally encountered such situations while attending courses abroad.

This project was born from a deep commitment to improving the quality of education across Europe. Our four core pillars reflect our values as a university foundation: rigour, authenticity, educational relevance, and cultural immersion. We aim not just to provide courses, but to contribute meaningfully to the European educational landscape.

Who can enroll to our courses?

Teachers who work with students aged 3 to 18 in elementary, lower secondary, upper secondary, vocational education and training, or adult education.

What language are the courses delivered in?

All our courses are conducted in English, except for a few courses specifically focused on Spanish language and Catalan culture, which are delivered in Spanish. The language of instruction is clearly indicated in each course description.

Are the courses held in Barcelona?

Yes. All our courses take place in educational venues located in the city of Barcelona — such as high schools or university campuses — to offer an authentic and immersive learning experience in real Catalan educational environments.

What is the cancellation policy?

Only written cancellation requests sent to erasmusplus@fumh.cat at least 30 days before the start date of the training will be eligible for a refund. After that deadline, no refunds will be granted.
