At FUNDACIÓ UNIVERSITÀRIA MARTÍ L’HUMÀ (FUMH), we understand the importance for our clients of having clear and transparent information about how we use the personal data they provide.

This Privacy Policy explains how we process your personal data when you interact with us. By providing your data through our website, you are accepting and consenting to this Privacy Policy.

PURPOSE OF DATA PROCESSING

Website users:

  • To send you information directly related to the services you request from us.

  • To send you promotional and/or advertising information about our activities related to your inquiry, including through electronic means.

  • To respond to your inquiries via the forms on our website, using the contact details you provide (email or telephone).

  • To register your email address for receiving event newsletters, only if you have explicitly requested them.

  • To manage any contractual relationship, including processing your application for participation in courses, cultural or leisure activities; for invoicing and payment tracking; and to gather information about the quality of our services.

  • To improve your user experience, we may create a client profile based on the information provided. No automated decisions will be made based on this profile.

  • To maintain suppression lists for commercial communications, if you’ve indicated you don’t wish to receive such information.

  • To maintain cancellation/deletion lists, if you’ve exercised your right to data erasure. These will be encrypted and access-restricted for the legally required retention period.

DATA RETENTION PERIOD

Your data will be retained:

  • For the legally required minimum duration (e.g., for invoicing, or data of participants in official programs or service contracts).

  • If no relationship is maintained with FUMH and we are not legally obligated to retain it, data will be kept for a period of two years.

  • For newsletter subscribers, email data will be partially erased (anonymized) two months after unsubscribing, for statistical control purposes.

LEGAL BASIS FOR PROCESSING

Depending on the nature of our relationship, the legal basis for processing your personal data may be:

  • Your consent, given when voluntarily submitting your data via our forms and accepting data processing by ticking the corresponding box.

  • A contractual relationship, due to participation in official programs, courses, collaboration agreements, or other services.

  • Legitimate interest, as a basis for processing your data while browsing our websites.

  • Legal obligation, such as under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the Spanish Law on Information Society Services (LSSI), for instance, to block your data or maintain opt-out lists.

DATA DISCLOSURE

The data provided in inquiry forms is not shared with third parties and is processed only by FUMH, except in the following cases:

  • Participation in programs involving third-party entities, either as organizers or collaborators, necessary to provide the service. In such cases, you will be informed and asked for your consent.

  • When a service is provided via a third-party company or professional, FUMH will inform them of privacy obligations and formalize a data processing agreement between FUMH (Data Controller) and the third party (Data Processor).

  • FUMH only transfers personal data within the European Union, and occasionally for travel or cultural exchange activities. In such cases, we ensure maximum data privacy and security. If transfer occurs outside the EU, it will be limited to countries under the EU–U.S. Privacy Shield (if applicable) or other countries recognized as having an adequate level of protection by the European Commission. For countries with less strict legislation, we apply standard contractual clauses in accordance with the European Commission Decision of February 5, 2010.

FUMH guarantees that under no circumstances will it sell, offer, or trade client, student, or participant data.

YOUR DATA RIGHTS

All individuals have the right to access the personal data held and processed by FUMH.

You also have the right to:

  • Rectify inaccurate data.

  • Request erasure of your data when no longer necessary for the purpose collected.

  • Object to processing for marketing purposes via electronic communications.

  • Request restriction of processing, so your data is not deleted but only processed under certain limits set by you.

The rights of data portability and automated decision-making do not apply in this context due to the nature of the data and how it is processed.

To exercise your rights, you may contact us via email, attaching a copy of a valid ID document.

If you believe your data is being processed unlawfully, you may file a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency at www.aepd.es.

CHANGES TO THE PRIVACY POLICY

FUMH reserves the right to unilaterally modify this Privacy Policy, whether due to changes in legislation or for internal organizational reasons (e.g., launching new data files necessary for managing new projects).

FUMH is not required to notify users of such changes, so we recommend reviewing this Policy periodically.

To indicate changes, we will update the modification date at the top of the Privacy Policy.
